I WRITE, EDIT, AND DIRECT.
Currently I’m working on feature films.
Previously I was ECD of the agency FWS (that is founder / creative lead for those who don’t do ad speak).
I've made ad campaigns and in-game content that helped define billion dollar video game franchises including Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed, The Division and The Last of Us.
Whether directing in the rain at Old Trafford or cutting perfume spots in a warm edit suite - crafting suspense and story from script to screen then distilling the images to land with emotion and punch is always a thrill. Fortunately for me, clients seem to enjoy the results too!
Building the agency was a lot of fun. We grew from three friends in a back room on Berwick Street into the world's premiere video game creative agency, collecting yellow pencils and golden lions along with offices in London and Montreal.
Before FWS, I cut features and directed promos, first as Director of Trailers and Ads at Rockstar Games, then at OffHollywood Digital. While there I worked to bring a wide range of experiences to audiences: from Gaspar Noé's hardcore extreme cinema to the super-soft feel of Downey fabric conditioner.
Outwith games, I've cut and directed ads for an eclectic range of clients, from UEFA and Merchant-Ivory Films to big agencies and the BBC.
Once upon a time I studied Artificial Intelligence at Edinburgh University. This was long before directing humans to act like AI characters on virtual sets; it's strange loops all the way down.
Born in Scotland, living in London, I'm most at home in a dark room with flickering images.
